Meet Derrick Gordon: the only openly gay athlete competing in the NCAA basketball tournament
Derrick Gordon is making history. Not only is he the only openly gay athelte in the tournement this year, as Outsports.com reports, "This is Gordon's third trip to the NCAA tournament. He reached the 2012 tournament with Western Kentucky and the 2014 tournament with Massachusetts. It was 19 days after UMass lost to Tennessee in the 2014 tournament that Gordon announced his sexuality publicly in an Outsports story.
Derrick wrote on his instagram, "Game Thursday night vs. Gonzaga...We're on a mission!!#honeybadger"
